A New kind of Pixel & Graphite

, Hey everyone! Now that we have been officially announced as creative guests at Saboten this year, we figured it was time to explain exactly how we've changed and where we are hoping to go in the future.

As most of you guys know Pixel and Graphite started out as Sai and Alex's personal art business, selling our work at local conventions and online and meeting a huge group of amazing people we never would have had the chance to connect with. That was when we realized Pixel & Graphite had the potential to be so much bigger than just us. We love connecting and encouraging artists wherever we go, and we love inspiring people who stop by our table to take a shot at their artistic dreams. So after many long months and lots of false starts, Sai and Alex are no longer Pixel & Graphite.

YOU ARE TOO.

Now don't get me wrong, you will still be seeing us at the usual cons with our work, but under our personal studios as Stars in the Sky and Alex Naomi . The Pixel & Graphite name is now the title for our art collective which aims to bring together artists who:

  1. Actively support other artists that reach out for help or guidance.
  2. Encourage feedback and welcome the chance to push themselves artistically
  3. Embrace that mental health is important and recognize that art can be used to express both the good and bad of this reality
  4. Wish to connect with others through their work

Currently we host sporadic Art Jam meet-ups with some of our current collective friends but eventually we aim to make Pixel & Graphite an online hub as well as a physical location in the Mesa/Tempe area to encourage local (and perhaps not so local) artists to gather together, learn from each other, and make a safe, encouraging environment to grow in their art-form. That is a long time in the future though, but the fun is definitely getting started!  Our social media and our website will start to subtly change as we feature other artists who are part of our collective along with new stuff we're up to and of course convention shenanigans. We look forward to what is in store and hope you'll stick around to be part of it!
